Located in the former Milwaukee Railroad roadhouse complex, just south of the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center on Highway 12, the museum displays Sioux City's historic steam locomotive, GH 1355, a switch engine and rolling stock. It also details the history of the area’s over one hundred thirty-year-old
railroad industry through the use of photographs, artifacts, and a
large HO-scale model. Its gift shop has a great deal of railroad
merchandise.
The roadhouse complex is on the National Register of Historic Places.
